The lower stretch of the off-road expedition winds through lush green terraces and traditional villages, offering a vibrant glimpse into rural Himalayan life. As the journey ascends, the scenery transforms dramatically—revealing towering snow-capped peaks and the stark, majestic beauty of the Upper Marshyangdi and Manang Valley.Traveling by off-road 4WD makes it possible to cover this diverse terrain comfortably and efficiently, making the tour ideal for those short on time but eager to experience the thrill of high altitudes and dramatic landscapes in just a few days.
The off-road expedition to Manang covers a rugged and scenic route that takes approximately 15 to 16 hours, depending on road conditions. While the journey is technically possible in a single day from Kathmandu (1,350 m) to Manang (3,450 m), it’s not recommended due to the steep altitude gain. Instead, our route thoughtfully explores sections of the semi-Annapurna Circuit, allowing for a more gradual ascent and a richer travel experience.
The journey winds through lush green valleys before transitioning into the stark, arid beauty of the upper Himalayas. Once in Manang, a high-altitude haven, you’ll have the opportunity to embark on unforgettable side trips. Popular options include a day hike to Ice Lake, a 3-day trek to the stunning Tilicho Lake, or visits to Gangapurna Glacier Lake, Khangsar Village, and the serene Parken Gompa.
